These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Dooze, a macOS application operated by Sebastian Pinto ("we," "us," or "our").
By downloading, installing, or using Dooze, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum legal age in your jurisdiction) to use Dooze.
By using the app, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement.
2. Accounts
Some features require you to create an account.
You agree to:
- Provide accurate and up-to-date information
- Maintain the security of your account credentials
- Accept responsibility for all activity under your account
You are responsible for securing access to your device and account.
3. The Service
Dooze is a macOS assistant designed to help users read, write, think, and automate tasks directly within the applications they already use.
We may, at any time:
- Modify, improve, or remove features
- Add new functionality
- Suspend or discontinue the service, in whole or in part
We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
4. User Content & Local-First Design
4.1 Ownership
You retain ownership of all text, files, and content you submit to or generate using Dooze ("User Content").
4.2 Local Storage
Dooze is designed to be local-first. By default:
- Content is processed to provide the service
- Results are stored locally on your device
- Content is not permanently stored on our servers
Some features may require temporary remote processing (for example, AI inference).
4.3 License
You grant us a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to process your content only as necessary to operate and improve the service.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use Dooze for unlawful or harmful purposes
- Attempt to reverse engineer, exploit, or bypass safeguards
- Interfere with the integrity or performance of the service
- Use the app to generate malware or abusive content
We may use technical measures, including device-level identifiers, to prevent abuse, fraud, or excessive account creation.
Violation of these Terms may result in suspension or termination.
6. AI-Generated Output
Dooze may generate content using artificial intelligence.
You acknowledge and agree that:
- Output may be inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading
- You are responsible for reviewing and verifying results
- Dooze does not provide legal, medical, financial, or professional advice
You use AI-generated output at your own discretion and risk.
7. Subscriptions & Payments
If you subscribe to a paid plan:
- Fees are billed in advance
- Payments are non-refundable except where required by law
- Pricing and plans may change with reasonable notice
Failure to pay may result in suspension or termination of access.
8. Termination
You may stop using Dooze at any time.
We may suspend or terminate your access if:
- You violate these Terms
- Required by law
- The service is discontinued
Upon termination, your right to use the app ends immediately.
9. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE."
WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
- WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES
- OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF: THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE PREVIOUS 12 MONTHS, OR $50 USD
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sebastian Pinto from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from:
- Your use of the service
- Your content
- Your violation of these Terms
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of Dooze after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
