Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Dooze, operated by Dooze, Inc., a Delaware corporation, collects, uses, and protects information. Dooze is a macOS application.

1. Our privacy approach

Dooze is built to run on-device by default. Most of your work happens locally on your Mac, and the cloud is used only when you take an action that explicitly calls for it. We follow a data-minimization philosophy:

• Collect as little data as possible
• Keep your content on your device whenever we can
• Avoid unnecessary data retention

2. Information we collect

2.1 Account information

If you create an account, we collect:

• Your email address
• Account identifiers used to sign you in

2.2 Device and usage information

To keep Dooze secure, reliable, and free from abuse, we may collect limited technical information, including:

• A device signal used to distinguish installs
• Operating system and app version
• Aggregate, content-free usage metrics and error logs

These metrics describe how features are used in aggregate. They do not include the contents of your meetings, documents, or conversations, and we do not use them for advertising or cross-app tracking.

2.3 Your content

Your content, such as transcripts, meeting audio and video, documents, and conversations, is stored locally on your Mac. Sensitive transcripts are encrypted at rest on your device. This content is not stored on our servers. When you take a cloud action, the content needed to complete that request is transmitted only for as long as it takes to fulfill it (see Section 3).

3. On-device and cloud processing

Dooze runs local, on-device models (for example, for transcription and everyday assistance) directly on your Mac. For these actions, your content never leaves your device.

Cloud AI in Dooze is bring-your-own. When you use a cloud model or agent, such as Claude or Codex, it runs on your own provider account using your own credentials. Dooze does not broker that inference and never reads or stores your provider tokens. Requests you make this way are sent directly under your account and are governed by that provider's own privacy policy.

Before any request leaves your Mac, Dooze scans it for content that looks like secrets or API keys and warns you so you can decide whether to continue.

4. Permissions and system access

Dooze asks for macOS permissions only when a feature needs them, and you grant each one through the standard system prompts. These may include:

• Screen Recording, to capture meetings and on-screen context
• Microphone, for meeting capture and dictation
• Calendar, to show and act on your upcoming meetings
• Accessibility, to read selected text and the active app for context
• A browser extension, to capture selections and paste results back into web apps

These capabilities are used to power features on your device. You can review or revoke any of them at any time in macOS System Settings.

5. How we use information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and operate the service
• Authenticate you and secure your account
• Prevent fraud and abuse and enforce safeguards
• Improve performance and reliability
• Communicate with you about the service

We do not sell personal data.

6. Third-party services

We rely on a small number of trusted providers to operate the service:

• Sentry, for error monitoring, configured to exclude your content
• Cloudflare, for content delivery and rate limiting
• Google, for Sign-In and authentication

These providers only access the information necessary to perform their function and are required to protect it. When you use a bring-your-own cloud model or agent, your relationship is with that provider directly, and their privacy policy applies to those requests.

7. Data retention and deletion

• Content stored locally remains on your device until you delete it, and Dooze provides controls to remove it
• Account information is retained while your account is active
• You may request account deletion at any time

8. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including encrypting sensitive transcripts at rest on your device and warning you before secrets are sent off your Mac. No system is completely secure, and you are responsible for securing your device.

9. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:

• Access personal data
• Request correction or deletion
• Object to certain processing

10. Children's privacy

Dooze is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

11. International use

Dooze may be used worldwide. By using the service, you consent to processing of information under United States law.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of Dooze constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
